East Coast Trip 2024 - August 8
August 8: We slept well last night and after doing our usual morning routines, including taking Sunny for morning walk and a chance to run free, we left at about 9:45 am and traveled about 200 miles to Elm River Park, Glenholme, NS. The campground is located fairly close to Bay of Fundy Tidal Bores. Tidal bores takes place twice a day during the flood tide and never during the ebb tide. A tidal bore may take on various forms, ranging from a single breaking wavefront with a roller to a smooth wavefront followed by a train of secondary waves (whelps). We did manage to get there in time to see the river flow in the opposite/wrong direction. We captured before and after pictures from where we were watching and it was strange to see a river flow up stream. We had leftovers for dinner, nothing exciting. 😉
