East Coast Trip 2024 - August 18

August 18: I took Sunny on a different walk this morning. Part of Shore Hills property is an island so Sunny and I ventured and it felt like we were on a hike in a forest. I found several types of wild mushrooms. We didn't rush getting ready today because it is Sunday and traffic shouldn't be bad. HA!!! It wasn't too bad in the beginning and we drove by Red's Eats and there was a much shorter line. It wasn't even open yet. After we got onto highway 95, and for a little more than 100 miles, we were traveling at an average speed of 20 mph - 4 hours or so to travel those miles. YIKES!!! We left at 10:30 am and arrived at the Boston/Cape Cod KOA Holiday, Middleboro, MA, at about 5:15 pm. What a day with not much to see except cars and pay toll fees, over $20 through 3 toll booths. I'm sure glad we live in Arizona. Okay, enough complaining. We are here to see some of the MA areas around Boston and Cape Cod. The campground is very nicely set among trees and grassy areas. They have all the nice amenities that KOA offers, most of which we will not use. We do, however, have a patio and a BBQ and chose to have hot dogs and corn for dinner.

Mexico 2025 - Day 19

March 27: The alarm clocks were off and it was good to wake up with no specific plans in place except to visit with friends. It was a hot day in Yuma so the ACs were running all day in the RV. We spent a quiet day relaxing with our friends. I had prepared a few meals for the freezer for our trip, and we had one of my ground beef and vegetable "stoups" - not a stew or a soup, but a combination of both - with some delicious warm sourdough bread and garlic butter. Ice cream was for dessert, thanks to our gracious hosts.

Mexico 2025 - Day 15

March 23: We hit the road again today this was the longest day on the road - 233 miles on 2-lane, narrow, potholed roads from Bahia de los Angeles to Vicente Guerrero. We left before 8:30 am and arrived at our next stop at nearly 6 pm. We did stop for a "bio" breaks and lunch. It was a tough day especially for our solo camper. She had to do everything on her own. We took pictures along the way of wild horses and the beautiful mountainous scenery. When we arrived, we all got ourselves situated and then went to the campground's restaurant, Posada Don Diego, for cocktails (more Margaritas) and dinner which was all part of our tour package. We all had made meal choices before we left the US which we didn't remember, so our chosen meal was a nice surprise. There wasn't much socializing that evening after dinner because we were all very tired.

East Coast Trip 2024 - October 8

October 8: Balloon Fiesta departure day. It has been an amazing time at the Fiesta. We have met some wonderful folks from all over the US, as is usual on a FRVT. We enjoyed the balloons again but they were flying in full force. It was hard to leave the park(ing lot) because this was the very best day we had for balloons. They were everywhere. We packed up our stuff, hitched up the Jeep and were on our way. We made a reservation with Harvest Host at a museum at the south entrance to the Petrified Forest National Park and arrived at about 3:30 pm. We settled in, enjoyed a meal then toured the museum and, of course, found something to buy. We were able to get a site with 30 amp power so we could run an AC.
