East Coast Trip 2024 - July 17
July 17: The day started a little chilly with cloudy skies but soon became cloudy and muggy. Today was another free day so we took our time getting going and we chose to take a drive - this time to the town of Digby, NS. On the way, we stopped back in Annapolis Royal for breakfast but this town doesn't offer many cafes or restaurants that serve breakfast, so we went to the German Bakery and the owner was kind enough to make Alan and I a scrambled egg sandwich. It was delicious and not like any other egg sandwich we'd ever tasted. I had discovered a little "variety" story which sold, among other things, yarn - DARN!! I did purchase a few balls of yarn. We made our way to Digby and took a walk around the quaint town. Digby is known for its scallops. We found another lighthouse just like the ones we found a couple of days ago. The tide was very low as can be seen from one of the photos. After inquiring about where to find scallops, we located a fish market close to the wharf. We returned mid afternoon and enjoyed our scallop dinner.
