East Coast Trip 2024 - June 9
June 9: We encountered some rain overnight and some wind gusts. Our alarm (yes, even on vacation, an alarm is needed) woke us at 6 am. Unfortunately, it is taking Sunny longer to adapt to new routines than us old folks. For the last couple of nights she's got us up in the middle of the night, and boy can she be insistent, to go out. We are hopeful this will be "all done" - as I tell her when the treats are finished. We had a good drive to the KOA in Hot Springs, SD, and arrived a little after 2 pm. The pictures for this day are scenery as we saw it. The roads were good and we drove through many small towns. We saw a few animals including cows and a couple of deer, Wyoming sprawl not so gradually changing to hills and mountains. Morton Pass elevation is 7169 ft. Lucky and Newton have become buddies and are each small enough to fit into Newton's bed. I should also mention the thousands of tiny bugs on the windshield and front of the RV. They are so small you have to zoom into the picture to see them and washing them off was quite a challenge. The setting is pretty, in and amongst the trees and hills. We settled in and decided to get burgers for dinner which were cooked by the KOA owners. They also had live entertainment - a solo country and western singer.

I love all the cows. Besides the smell, it's so fun to pass wildlife.
