East Coast Trip 2024 - September 16 - 19
September 16: Today was much the same as yesterday - hurry up and wait. Weather is much the same, hot, humid, cloudy, and light rain. Because we've stayed here for so long and are closing in, albeit slowly, to our departure from Tallahassee, I've decided to combine a few days because I'm so far behind.
September 17: Today we look forward to tomorrow when our RV will go into the shop to be repaired. It took nearly 2 weeks to get all the "ducks" in a row - it's not just a transmission, it's other components that need to be obtained in order to repair our RV to get us on the road. It will be a "new and improved" transmission that is supposed to improve the overall performance. We will be boarding the animals because we will need to be in a hotel for one night and most hotels only allow 2 animals and some only small dogs. Those that allow pets charge exorbitant prices per dog, per day, on top of a cleaning fee. Yikes, so much for being "pet friendly" hotels, they aren't very "pet owner friendly." The total room charge would be more than double. The weather is sunny with showers expected later today.
September 18: Today, YEAH, we are taking the RV to the service center and the pets to be boarded. We gathered a change of clothes and the pets. Pet Paradise is the place we found for them and Comfort Inn & Suites for us. The hotel was okay, everything we needed without the frills. We didn't do much, watched TV to stay out of the heat and humidity.
September 19: Today we found out we have to stay at a hotel another night. I inadvertently booked our second night at the Country Inn & Suites a mile away so we needed to change hotels. I drove back to the pet boarding place to give Newton some medication and did some more of "nothing" to keep cool.
